A URL shortener turns a long web address into a short, shareable link. When someone opens the short link, they are redirected to the original destination. SwiftLink adds analytics, QR codes, password protection and expiry controls on top of that basic redirect.
No. You can shorten links as a guest right from the homepage (up to 10 per day). A free account gives you higher limits, a dashboard to manage every link, analytics history, folders, tags and API access.
Yes. The Free plan is free forever with no credit card required. Paid plans add more links per month, custom aliases, custom domains, advanced analytics and API access. See Pricing for details.
By default, links never expire. When creating a link you can optionally set it to expire after 1, 7, 30, 90 or 365 days. Expired links stop redirecting.
Every click records the time, referrer, country, device type, browser and operating system. Dashboards show totals and trends, and you can export raw data to CSV. Visitor IPs are stored only as salted hashes, never in plain text.
Yes. Add a password when creating the link (or later from your dashboard). Visitors must enter the password before they are redirected. Passwords are stored with strong one-way hashing.
Yes, on plans that include custom domains. Add your domain in the dashboard, complete DNS verification, and your links will be served from your brand instead of ours.
Every short link can render a QR code that you can download as PNG or SVG. It is the same destination, encoded for cameras — ideal for print, packaging and in-person signage.
Only public http:// and https:// URLs. We reject dangerous schemes (javascript:, data:, file:), localhost and private-network addresses, unresolvable domains, and domains blocklisted for abuse. Anything violating our Acceptable Use Policy — phishing, malware, spam, scams — will be removed.
Report it here. Our team reviews every report and removes links that violate our policies, typically within one business day.
Yes. The REST API lets you create, list, update and delete links and pull analytics programmatically. API keys are managed per-user in the dashboard with per-key rate limits. Read the API documentation to get started.
From your dashboard under Account settings you can request account deletion, which removes your profile, links, analytics and API keys. Contact messages are retained per our Privacy Policy retention schedule.
